Ames, Iowa -- An Ames biotechnology company owner will speak at the Entrepreneur Forum at noon, Friday, Nov. 14, in the Pioneer Room of the Iowa State University Memorial Union. The forum is free and open to the public.

Steve Lasky is a founder of Advanced Analytical Technologies. The six-year-old firm produces equipment and test kits for bacterial detection. He is the firm's president and chief operating officer. He also has served as a corporate director and vice president of research and development for the firm.

Lasky's lecture is "Biotech Here, Biotech There, Biotech Everywhere."

Before starting the Ames company, Lasky was employed at the Union Carbide Technical Center, South Charleston, W.V., where he managed both the process spectroscopy and the robotics divisions. He received his doctorate in analytical chemistry from the University of Wyoming, Laramie, in 1990.
