Pappajohn Scholarship Program

Reiman Fall 2001 Interns

Internship Experience Benefits Both Interns and Host Companies

Ryan Downing stated that his internship is one of the best things that he has ever done in college. Many other Reiman Scholars would agree. Downing, an aerospace engineering student, said that the internship gave him the opportunity to learn about the business world as well as acquire business skills.

The experience benefits both interns and host companies alike. Mollie Deem described the internship as a great experience for a student because everything that she does matters to her host company. Iacovos Zachariades, Senior Partner of Global Reach Internet Productions, said that Mollie's work will benefit his business in the near future.

Greg Dace, Vice President of Acumen Instruments, agreed with Zachariades. He said, "Scott (his intern) is doing things that make a big difference in our company."

The fall 2001 Reiman Scholars were Ryan Downing, junior in aerospace engineering; Mollie Deem, senior in advertising; Scott Yeager, sophomore in pre-business; and Kanwar Singh Gagandeep, graduate student in business administration.

Funding for the Reiman Scholars in Entrepreneurship was made possible through a gift from Roy Reiman, ISU alum, and his wife, Bobbi as well as a grant from the Kauffman Center for Entrepreneur Leadership, Inc. in Kansas City. This year-round program is designed to provide entrepreneurially minded students with a unique real world internship opportunity. This is the fifth year the Pappajohn Center has offered this program.
