ISU Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship hosts Women Who Create and SheTalks events to celebrate Women Entrepreneurship Week

AMES, Iowa (September 27, 2023) – Iowa State University and the Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship will celebrate Women Entrepreneurship Week (October 16 – 20) by hosting two community-wide events celebrating female entrepreneurs across Iowa.

Women Entrepreneurship Week brings together female entrepreneurs, business owners, students, and community members to highlight the importance of building a community that empowers women in business. The Pappajohn Center will host the Women Who Create Conference followed by the SheTalks event on October 18th from 9:00 am – 6:30 pm at the ISU Research Park Core Facility, 1805 Collaboration Place, Ames, Iowa 50010.

Women Who Create Conference – Wednesday, October 18

  • Location: ISU Research Park Core Facility Training Room
  • Time: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • Event Description: The Women Who Create Conference is a full-day event featuring workshops and speakers tailored to women in entrepreneurship, business owners, aspiring entrepreneurs, and those who support them. The sessions will provide valuable insights and resources for growing businesses and fostering success.
  • Registration is required: The $50 fee includes breakfast, coffee and tea, lunch, a welcome gift, and a full day of workshops and networking.

SheTalks – Wednesday, October 18

  • Location: ISU Research Park Core Facility Atrium
  • Time: 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm
  • Event Description: Following the Women Who Create Conference, SheTalks (sponsored by the ISU Debbie & Jerry Ivy College of Business) is a community cocktail reception that will showcase six remarkable women who are pioneering creativity in their respective industries. Drawing inspiration from the Japanese-style Pecha Kucha format, each presenter will share their story using only 20 slides, each displayed for 20 seconds.
  • Registration is appreciated: The event is free and includes networking, presentations, and cocktails.

The Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship aims to provide a supportive ecosystem for women in business and is committed to fostering a culture of entrepreneurship across the state. The Women Who Create Conference and the SheTalks events are open to the public. Free parking is available to event attendees at the ISU Research Park Core Facility.
