Jack Harrington spent 20 years as an operational executive in the telecommunications industry, followed by 7 years in the venture capital business. He brought to the venture business an in-depth understanding and passion for this quickly changing and, at times, unwieldy market. He utilized his extensive operational experience to guide young companies, helping them ultimately achieve their business goals and enjoy success. Today he is President of Harrington Ventures, where he continues to invest and consult to a wide variety of businesses in California.
Jack was a General Partner at Advanced Technology Ventures (ATV) in Palo Alto, California from 2000 to 2006, where he focused on making investments and presiding on boards in the communications, IT infrastructure and cleantech markets.
Before joining ATV, Jack spent 16 years at AT&T, most recently as a Vice President responsible for the P&L of a $2 billion equipment and services business unit. Jack rose from an Account Executive, serving in multiple functional roles across the organization, including sales, marketing network operations and corporate personnel. He also, as CEO, built an Internet Infrastructure / application server company, ObjectStream, Inc., from the ground up, eventually supporting $6 million in revenue and 50 employees. Jack graduated from Iowa State University with a BS in Biochemistry and Zoology and holds an MBA from the University of Colorado. He also participated in the management development program at the Harvard Business School.
