Entrepreneurship and Innovation are a part of all of the colleges at Iowa State University. The Entrepreneurship Minor is a great complement to any major area of study. In addition to feasibility analysis and business planning, the program teaches the topics of innovation, opportunity recognition, technology transfer, industry analysis, and competitive strategy.

Entrepreneurship Minor at Iowa State University is a program that is truly interdisciplinary. Any undergraduate can seek a minor in Entrepreneurship Minor. And with the wide range of options that are available, students are able to tailor their learning experience to their major. In fact, every college has an approach to entrepreneurship that offers elective courses, workshops, and other alternative learning opportunities, so students can truly make their program their own.
Let’s say you’re interested in Apparel, Events, and Hospitality Management. Within the College of Human Sciences, you can take the capstone course AESHM 474, Entrepreneurship in Human Sciences, where class participants prepare a business plan for a boutique, restaurant, or other new venture.
Or you may be interested in entrepreneurship in the College of Veterinary Medicine. You could take VDPAM 414, Veterinary Practice Entrepreneurship, and might end up working side-by-side with a veterinary practice owner.
