Graduate Entrepreneurship and Innovation Certificate

A graduate certificate in entrepreneurship and innovation offers post-undergraduate students the opportunity to learn the basics of starting a business. The certificate requires four courses (12 credits). The two required core courses are offered online by the Ivy College of Business. Elective courses are available across campus. Designed for adventurous dreamers who are ready to launch a new venture, this graduate certificate program will give you tools and strategies you need to get your idea off the ground.

The objectives of the Graduate Certificate program are:

Being a successful entrepreneur takes more than gumption and a good idea. It takes know-how. Our graduate certificate in entrepreneurship and innovation focuses on strategies and resources for launching new ventures including:

  • Core concepts for new venture development
  • How to position new ventures and innovations
  • How to secure financing, investors and customers
  • Marketing and growth strategy
  • How to address risk and market volatility
  • Legal requirements and recommendations for new ventures

Master of Entrepreneurship

Do you possess an entrepreneurial spirit but don’t have a concept of your own to pursue?  In this program, you can join a startup team, launch existing university technology, or spin off a new venture.

With collaboration from the Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship, students in the master’s program will have access to experiential learning programs, startup support, mentors, professional services, and access to founders and teams in new and existing entrepreneurial businesses.

The one-year master of entrepreneurship program offers you an exciting blend of core curriculum and critical hands-on learning components that, combined, teach the most important entrepreneurial skill sets. This sets you up for success!

PhD in Entrepreneurship

The doctoral program in Entrepreneurship (ENT) prepares an aspiring group of doctoral students to conduct and publish scholarly research in the fields of Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Technology Management. The purpose of the program is to place its graduates into academic positions at leading research-oriented universities in the U.S. and abroad. The student’s learning experience is enhanced through active participation in research seminars, joint research projects with ENT faculty, and participation in academic conferences. Students are trained in effective teaching and how to conduct impactful research. They are strongly encouraged to publish their work in top-academic journals before they enter the job market. Entrepreneurship faculty at ISU have excellent publication and teaching records, hold editorial positions at major journals, and are experienced in mentoring doctoral students. The program maintains a high faculty-to-student ratio, allowing close collaboration and interaction among faculty and students.
