Guy Barbier and Patrick O’Donnell will share their business paths since graduating Iowa State. Faculty will share their teaching and research activities with guests. The discussion will center around skills students need to be successful following graduation, entrepreneurship and business curriculum, and general Q&A.
Guy is a senior client partner at Oracle Data Cloud, a data and analytics company helping the world’s largest brands measure and capture consumer attention to drive business results. He is responsible for overseeing and developing Oracle Data Cloud’s enterprise partnerships at a global level.
Prior to joining Oracle, he was part of the founding sales team at Moat, a SaaS Marketing Analytics company acquired by Oracle in April 2017 for $850 million, and spearheaded international development across 60+ markets. Prior to joining Moat, he was an Investment Banker at Merrill Lynch supporting structured products globally for some of Merill Lynch’s largest Hedge Fund clients.
Guy grew up in Geneva, Switzerland and graduated Iowa State University in 2007 with a double major in finance and marketing. He is an active entrepreneur, advisor, and investor with a passion for technology and all things relating to early-stage ventures.
Patrick is the associate director of engineering for NYCEEC, a clean energy finance company in New York City, which provides loans for building projects committed to making them more energy efficient or adding distributed energy or energy storage. He provides technical due diligence, construction surveillance, and performance monitoring of energy retrofit transactions.
Prior to joining NYCEEC, Patrick worked at Michaels Energy, an engineering consulting firm, as project implementation engineer, designing and implementing energy efficiency projects for commercial and industrial facilities.
Patrick grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, graduated from Iowa State University in 2008 where he studied mechanical engineering, environmental studies, and Spanish. At Iowa State, he was involved in the Men’s Soccer Club, Society of International Engineers, ME Learning Team, Business Analysis Lab, and study abroad.
