About the Women Who Create Scholarship

The Women Who Create Scholarship Award was established in fall 2020 as part of the Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship’s effort to continue to support, help, and celebrate women entrepreneurs through the Women Who Create programming.  Special thanks to the Ivy College of Business and Tom Swartwood & Terri Combs for the gifts to establish the awards.

Women Who Create Scholarship Award – $3,000 (up to three $1,000 awards)

For the fall 2020 semester, the Center will award scholarships to female students at Iowa State University who are pursuing entrepreneurship through classroom or experiential learning programs, have pursued an entrepreneurial endeavor, or embrace the entrepreneurial spirit.

Applications must be submitted through the Pappajohn Center’s website (below) by November 6, 2020.

Criteria for scholarship recipients include a demonstrated interest in entrepreneurship (practical or classroom), and a clear entrepreneurial focus or business endeavor will be awarded to currently enrolled female students at Iowa State University.

Women Who Create Scholarship Application

To be completed by Iowa State University students who intend to establish or have established their own business or are active in Iowa State's entrepreneurship programs. Scholarships will be awarded to female students demonstrating interest in entrepreneurship.

Deadline: November 6, 2020

    Please attach a paper (maximum 2 pages) that describe your entrepreneurial interests, accomplishments, activities, awards, involvement, and future aspirations. If in business, describe the business that you currently operate. If aspiring to business ownership, describe your future business. Please describe how this scholarship will help you achieve your goals.
