CYstarters family grows to 35 startups after 3 years
The (brief) history of CYstarters: started
in 2016 with 8 startups in the first cohort, housed out of Building 6
in the ISU Research Park (before moving to the newly constructed ISU
Economic Development Core Facility). Today, 3 of the 8 startups are
still active and have generated over $1 million in revenue, outside
investment, grants, and competitions.
2017 cohort: 12 startups selected to participate in the program. Today, 8 of the 12 startups are still active. 2018 cohort: 15 startups selected to participate in the program. Meet them here!
Taking the interdisciplinary approach, the 46 students and recent
graduates who have or are currently participating in CYstarters,
represent all 6 colleges at ISU. The program, managed by the ISU
Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship, is also supported by a
collaborative cross-campus group, including the Ivy College of Business,
Human Sciences, Agriculture & Life Sciences, Design, Engineering,
Liberal Arts & Sciences, the Office of Economic Development &
Industry Relations, and Jan & Tom Kreamer (donor).
Entrepreneur Adventures start with CYstarters(as seen on the ISU homepage).
We couldn’t agree more…and know it’s because of the rich support
coming from the entrepreneurial community in Ames, at Iowa State
University, and across the state of Iowa.
