This summer I had the chance to be around plenty of design students participating in the CYstarters program. Something they purposely teach in the College of Design is to have a human-centered approach using design thinking. Meaning…
People are at the center, always.
Entrepreneurship doesn’t happen in a vacuum, rather it’s the countless interactions with a community. It’s
something that has been special about CYstarters since launching the
program in 2016 –the great community of people we are surrounded by.
Thank you to all of the presenters, mentors, sponsors, parents, faculty,
and community members who gave their time, extended an introduction, or
nudged each of the 19 young entrepreneurs to try, try, and try again.
Entrepreneurs are the people who bring ideas to life.
While each has a distinct story and unique aspirations, every
entrepreneur will face barriers in their own way. Our task at the
Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship is to help people start & give
them the resources and assistance they need to pursue their dreams.
