Cam Reiman Wins Iowa Global Student Entrepreneur Awards

We’re excited to celebrate Cam Reiman, founder of Spock’s Sanctuary, for taking 1st place at the Iowa Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA)—earning a $30,300 prize package of cash and in-kind professional services! The competition, hosted by EO Iowa, brings together top student entrepreneurs from across the state to pitch their innovative ventures.

Last week, we announced that all six GSEA finalists were Iowa State students—each a proud alum of our CYstarters accelerator and representing five different undergraduate colleges across the university. This incredible sweep highlights the talent, work ethic, and preparation of Iowa State’s student entrepreneurs.

This lineup of all Iowa State students made the competition even tougher. In the end, every finalist walked away with a prize donated by EO Iowa sponsors:

  • Boluwarin Ojo (SparkDefy): Access to the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) facilitated by a Certified EOS Implementer ($4,000 value).
  • Jesse Williams (Dinder), and Ryan Ryherd (DAF Landscaping): Free mentoring from an EO member. (EO members are seasoned entrepreneurs leading businesses with over $1M in annual revenue—so their guidance is truly invaluable to our students.)
  • Anders Otness (North Star Scientific): Two-hour marketing package from 818 design services
  • Ella Janssen (Monologue): $500 cash from Vibrant Insurance

From L to R: Cam Reiman (Spock’s Sanctuary), Ella Janssen (Monologue), Boluwarin Ojo (SparkDefy), Ryan Ryherd (DAF Landscaping), Anders Otness (North Star Scientific), Jesse Williams (Dinder), Mitchell Hora (EO Iowa).

Cameryn will now advance to the national GSEA competition in Punta Gorda, Dominican Republic, proudly representing Iowa State. The global competition, if Cameryn were to advance, will be held in Ireland.
