Call for Workshop Presentations

The Heartland Challenge Technology, Commercialization & Entrepreneurship Summit’s call for workshops is now open.

Opportunities for presentations include:

Individual Presentation: Presentation on a specific topic related to commercialization, research, SBIR/STTR success and strategy, entrepreneurial support, or other relevant topics.

Workshop: Moderator-led workshop that supports skill development, research topics, innovative concepts, or best practices.

Panel: Moderated presentations of a single topic followed by Q&A.

Roundtable: Interactive audience conversation focused on questions posed by content experts.

Suggested Workshop Presentations will center around key event topics including, but not limited to:

  • Kauffman Challenge Grant Activities and Results (Grant Proposals or Community of Practice committees and subcommittees)
    • Lessons Learned in the Challenge Grant Program
    • Proposed Future Research stemming from the Challenge Grant Program
  • Best SBIR Resources Across the Heartland
  • Legal Issues Surrounding Commercialization
  • Top 60 Questions + Top 60 Answers about Commercializing Technology
  • Best Practices in Commercialization
  • Pathways to Commercialization
  • NSF I-Corps Program Best Practices
  • Company Formation – When and How?
  • Successful SBIR Grant Writing – How to Write a Winning SBIR Grant
  • Academic Research – Commercializing your IP
  • Partners for Success
  • Train the Trainer

Proposals should include a 50-word abstract and 250-word description of the session that includes a summary of content and a statement about what an attendee of the session will learn or take away from attending.

Presenters must be registered as attendees of the event. Submit your workshop session proposal below. The deadline for submitting a workshop session is August 20, 2021.
