Are you ready to be inspired?
Join us on March 26 for a dynamic talk by two successful entrepreneurs who first got connected at Iowa State University!
Brandon T. Adams was attending Iowa State as an undergraduate and had the good fortune of being in the audience at one of Cactus Jack’s guest lectures in 1148 Gerdin. Brandon was intrigued and inspired by Jack’s story that day and went on to launch his Arctic-Stick product with guidance and mentorship from Cactus Jack all along the way. The pair remain friends today.
Brandon Adams graduated from the Ivy College of Business in 2012 and went on to become an Emmy award-winning producer, TV host, startup investor, and public speaker. As the founder of Accelerant Media Group, Brandon has produced commercials, social media content, and TV shows that captivate and empower audiences and help scale companies’ growth. He is the co-founder of Rise and Record, an event dedicated to sharing people’s stories through video marketing, and has raised over $85 million collaboratively for various companies.
Dubbed “Cactus Jack” by his father as a precocious five-year-old, Jack Barringer has always had the type of personality that electrifies a room and a flair for the dramatic that is summed up best in one of his favorite sayings: “It’s not done until it’s overdone.” Today, Cactus Jack, who has appeared on ABC’s Shark Tank, is an entrepreneur, inventor, salesman, and CEO (that’s chief excitement officer) at Cactus Jack’s Marketing, a product sourcing and promotion firm based in Ames. Cactus Jack holds more than a dozen patents, and he has been featured in publications ranging from People Magazine to the Wall Street Journal, USA Today and more.
Together, they will share their unique entrepreneurial journeys, talk about how their paths have crossed over the years, provide tips for aspiring entrepreneurs, and answer your burning questions about living life as an entrepreneur.
This event is free to attend and open to the public with a reception to follow in the Kingland Hub.
This Start Something event is co-hosted by Sigma Nu Tau Entrepreneurship Honor Society, Entrepreneur Club, and Entrepreneurship Product Development Club. Additional financial support is provided by the Reiman Entrepreneurial Speaker Series program at the Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship.
